The practise is quite ancient and still part of the belief system of may religions..The person performing the exorcism, known as an exorcist, is often a priest, or and individual thouht to be graced with special powers or skills.

To my great suprise,it is almost in every religion…
from Kaballah, Hindu till Wicca has their own version of it..
